Plates install fast, bolster performance

platesYou can improve reading distance a lot when you pay attention to the conditions of your reader’s environment. Did you know you can often enhance reader performance by shielding them from electromagnetic interference with Idesco’s Installation and Insulation plates? RFID readers installed on metal surfaces (or on the opposite side of a wall where another reader is installed) commonly suffer from poor performance.

Many years ago, Idesco studied the problem and developed a solution: installation and shield plates. Idesco’s plastic Installation Plates, installed between your reader and metal surfaces, separate your readers from interfering electromagnetic eddy waves created by conductive metal surfaces, returning them to optimal performance. As added benefit, these installation plates will also often conveniently cover old surface screw holes from previous devices while ensuring convenient egress for readers’ installation cables. Conversely, Idesco’s metal Insulation Plates, when deployed behind your reader, will insulate its own broadcast field from weakening interference from any reader or similar electromagnetic device installed on the opposite side of its wall.

G4S Secure Solutions AS (currently Nokas) deployed 800 8 CD 2.0 Slim Pin readers using Idesco’s installation plates in Rikshospitalet, The National Hospital in Oslo. Installation plates streamlined the installation, ensuring rapid replacement of old readers by new ones without extra repair work on old holes in the walls.
