8 CL 2.0 now encrypts Wiegand

26.04.2017

Historically, a glaring flaw of the Wiegand interface was that data transfers were always unprotected. Skimmers eavesdropping on cable amplitude modulations could identify credential data. Idesco’s new 8 CL 2.0 LEGIC® reader now offers you an option for encrypting data over Wiegand with a 128 bit AES cipher, applied at the reader, for decryption by your system. If you are interested in learning more about this option, please contact Idesco.

Don’t forget 8 CL 2.0 is available in a variety of durable reader housing options with the highest combined durability and protection classes!
