Control your readers and access cards with Cardea Coder
The new Cardea Coder allows you to manage your system’s reader configurations and access card formats independently in your own environment.
Many organisations today prefer to keep critical information, such as access credential data, under their own control. Cardea Coder supports this approach by enabling organisations to manage readers, credentials and security keys internally.
With Cardea Coder, an organisation or system integrator can respond rapidly to change requests, whether new access cards need to be programmed or reader settings need to be updated.
Cardea Coder operates similarly to its predecessor, the DESCoder tool for Idesco 8 CD 2.0 readers. With Cardea Coder, you can:
- manage security keys used for reader and credential programming,
- program new access cards,
- create configuration cards for Cardea readers,
- create configuration files for Cardea readers.
Configuration files created with Cardea Coder can be transferred to Cardea readers using the Mobile Coder app, OSDPv2 File Transfer or a configuration card.
These configurations can be used to modify reader settings such as security keys, sound volume, Bluetooth range, PIN pad backlighting and LED colour, as well as many other operational parameters.
The reader communication protocol can also be changed independently, for example from Wiegand to OSDPv2.
Cardea Coder can also convert existing configurations for Idesco 8 CD 2.0 readers into configurations compatible with Cardea readers. This simplifies migration from 8 CD 2.0 readers to Cardea within your access control system.
If preferred, reader updates, credential programming and related services can still be sourced from Idesco. These services are delivered in accordance with our ISO 27001-certified information security management system.
