By the beginning of 2018 we will launch our new EPC 2.0 readers with remarkable new features; encrypted data transfer between reader and transponder, and much simpler reader updating. The new reader will have an ability to protect its transactions from skimming and cloning with 128 bit AES encryption. Additionally, updates for EPC 2.0 will be much easier than for its predecessors. No more uninstalling for software updates. You will be able to reconfigure EPC 2.0 on site by exposing it to a configuration card.
These capabilities are made possible by EPC 2.0 integrating EPC’s newest version 2.0 of EPC Gen2, while remaining fully backwards compatible with earlier EPC transponder versions.
So, if you are considering strengthening the security of your long-range applications and want to test EPC 2.0 before the end of the year, contact us now. The first few units will be made available for testing then.
