You can significantly enhance reading distance when you pay attention to the conditions in your reader’s environment. Did you know Idesco has Installation and Insulation plates that can shield your reader from electromagnetic interference, significantly improving its performance in many instances? Readers installed on metal surfaces or on the opposite side of a wall where another reader is operating are a common source of poor reader performance. Many years ago, Idesco studied the problem and developed a solution: installation and shield plates. Idesco’s plastic Installation Plate, installed between your reader and a metal surface, lifts your reader away from interfering electromagnetic eddy waves created by the conductive metal surface. As added benefit, this installation plate will conveniently cover old screw holes in the wall from previous devices while providing convenient egress for the reader’s installation cable. Conversely, Idesco’s metal Insulation Plates, when deployed behind your reader, prevent its broadcast field from being diminished by interference from any reader or similar electromagnetic device installed on the opposite side of its wall.
